The tvjunkie files #1

D.W.Q.M.: "I'm a tiger when my dander's up!" -Jago (a character from the episode the Talons of Weng-Chiang)

As promised! here's the first edition of the tvjunkie files! ;)

Series: Enterprise
Episode: The Xindi
Original airdate: 9/10/2003, season premiere. Yah, i know, way late-and my review won't be as in-depth because of it.

Okay, first of all, if you want to improve the theme for a star trek series, you do not add a faster drum beat interlaced with some gitar. Now, I was never a big fan of the Rod Stewart song for the enterprise them (come on, it's Star Trek!!) But when the faster beat and gitar was added, it took all the magestic (sp? too lazy to look up) feeling out of it. This might take longer to grow on me than the original did.

My main problem with Enterprise is it's entire premise-100 years before Captian Kirk. I guess I'm not very fond of prequels-they lead to too many inconsistencies. Plus, the ship is entirely too clean to be a fish out of water, if you know what i mean....(hmm...do I know what i mean? ;) LOL)

Enterprise is supposed to be moving in an entirely new direction now. Lets get tough! Problem is, Captain Archer is not really the tough kind-he's a little soft (IMO)-too soft spoken to be a tough captain. When the Xindi wouldn't help him, he wasn't very forceful. Trip, on the other hand, gave him a piece of his mind! Wwoooo! Go Trip! Still, it is the beginning of the season, and since I am a star trek fan, I will continue to watch...

Okay, now, I know the fellas were all excited (well, most-you know who you are!!! ;) ) that T'Pal was going to have a whole new wardrobe. Unfortunately, they were a little disappointed in her hair cut-which Persephone and I liked, which means it must not be sexy enough for them...perverts. ;) To be fair though, Persephone and I agree that Trip should find more excuses to take off his shirt!!! :-D Also, if you were only listening to the scene where T'Pal and Trip were trying to relax each other, you would think it was a porno instead of Star Trek!! (well, that's what it sounded like!!)

Since this first review was so late, I was going to add the second episode of the season (Anomaly), but I don't have much time-plus there are three shows that start tonight!!! Woo-hoo! ;) I will say this about the second episode though-Archer is starting to become tougher...still could use a little work on the voice though-a little too soft, not as forceful as his actions. He needs to add the combination of Captian Picard, John Crichton, and Colonel O'Neil to his voice-then he could really start kicking some major butt!!! (ok, I know I just crossed over three different series with those characters, but oh, well-it is my blog! LOL ;) )

So there's my first review-a little lame due to time constraints. I won't be doing every single thing I watch, (too much time, plus, you might not even watch all the shows I watch! but I hope you are still amused.)

In closing, an inside joke for the taco night crowd who were there last Wednesday: "That's no moon!!...." ;)
