D.W.Q.M.: Sgt. Benton: "What are we going to do now?" the Second Doctor: "Keep it confused, feed it with useless information. I wonder if I have a television set handy?" ( author's note: this post can also be found at the Idiot's Lantern ) Hiya everybody!! This post is a day early-I won't have time to write this tomorrow because I will be heading to Marcon! Strange electrical phenomenon or deaf ghost?

D.W.Q.M.: Ian: "Where's your spirit of adventure, hm?" the First Doctor: "It died a slow and painful death when those bats came out of the rafters." Ahh, the system is down again. I've had a lovely morning so far-I posted a short entry at the Idiot's Lantern , read several blogs, checked my email, edited some Mp3 track info...yeah, a real productive day at the library so far. ;) So I decided to take the time and write about an incident that happened last Friday morning that was...well, just plain weird. My stereo is hooked up to my tv-and when I use the stereo for sound, I usually have to have it cranked to at least 20 or 22 to make it worthwhile. However, at the end of the day, I usually turn the sound down and then set it to the radio, since I can't wake up without the radio to keep me going in the morning. Last Thursday, I didn't use the stereo for the tv at all, so the volume should have been at it's normal radio setting...right? Wrong!

May Night Sky

D.W.Q.M.: Duke Juliano: "There's this man in Florence claims that by arranging ground glasses in a certain order, it's possible to see the moon and stars as large as your hand." Marco: "Is that a good thing?" (from the Fourth Doctor story, the Masque of Mandragora, ) It has been a very long time since I've done one of these posts-I am so sorry! I don't have a good excuse, really, so I won't try to make one up. I know this month is already more than halfway over, but I figured if I want to start these posts again, I should start somewhere. ;) This post is brought to you by Sky and Telescope . Sky Events May 3rd: Jupiter reaches opposition to the Sun May 6th: Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks (best seen in the tropics and Southern Hemisphere) May 13th: Full Moon May 30th: Moon besides Mars, just after dusk May 31st: Moon besides Saturn, just after dusk. ahh, little ones-how we have corrupted you. ;)

D.W.Q.M.: "Female? Ah, you have a primary and secondary reproductive system. It is an inefficient system, you should change it." -Linx, (from the Third Doctor story, the Time Warrior ) Well, as long as there is new Doctor Who airing either here or in the U.K., I'm guaranteed at least one new post every week-sometimes more. *hee* I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I made my usual calls up north, and as always, they turned into the most interesting conversations. ;) This year's topic? Doctor Who. ;) My Mom, Ally, Shan and I all agree we need to have a Doctor Who marathon while I'm there-problem is, we've been saying that for about 3 years now-it hasn't quite happened yet. (we've tried, though-one or two episodes here and there-but we are talking about hours long, with lots of junk food!) LOL. So this summer will mark our 7th attempt (one for each time I visit in the summer and at Christmas) The big question is-wide screen tv, or big, comf

"Mummy...? Are you my mummy? (or, little Whovians in training)

D.W.Q.M.: "No mummies here. Nobody here but us chickens...Well, this chicken." -the Ninth Doctor My sister celebrated her birthday on Saturday. I called her early that morning, and started to leave a long message on their answering machine when someone picked up and a tiny voice declared, "Auntie, you're silly!!" *heehee* I chatted with Boo for a while, then she brought the phone into the bedroom where Ally was resting with Mellon. Ha! I woke her up! Actually, she was glad I called, 'cause she had the cutest little story to tell me. She was watching Friday's episode of Doctor Who, the Empty Child , with Mellon sitting on her belly. Well, as they were watching the part where all the zombies start repeating 'Mum-my' at the end of the episode, when Mellon started rocking back and for and repeating 'Mom-my, mom-my' in the same sing-song fashion. She was so cute!! I started to laugh. I had that picture in my head all day. LOL. So, we have Mad

HA!

D.W.Q.M.: "Your arrogance is nearly as great as your ignorance." -the First Doctor For months, I have refused to buy the 'original' Star Wars triology on dvd, because, well-I didn't consider what Lucas put out to be the original. (I mean, come on-replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christiensen at the end of Jedi ? what was that all about?!?!) I was upset that Lucas didn't include the original unaltered versions in the dvd release. He said something along the lines of he considered the original was a work in progress, so he wasn't going to release them on dvd-that we had our videos. That's ok, I've got the videos and that's $70 that will remain in my pocketbook. ;p Well, he must have changed his mind-it's been brought to my attention that the original, un-altered versions of the original triology will become available on DVD until December 31st. Each release will also include the 2004 tweaked version. That's ok, I don't have to
